Nowhere Menu


This page is specifically for the people enlisted in the Road2Nowhere camp. If you want to join in with communal food and water and shower provisions, please sign up on the Road2Nowhere page.

Please include what you plan to make, measurements of ingredients for making the meal for 2 people (this will help us figure out exactly how much of everything we need once we know how many people will be attending each meal), and any equipment required to make the meal (knives, colanders, whisks, pots, pans, blenders, etc.)

Also, if you could please check for dietary restrictions of participants on the day you plan to cook, and make sure that your meal will offer something for everyone.

Sunday 17th

Dinner Will Be:
Vegetarian Gumbo, a veg dish and rice.
Food Needed to Make Dinner (for 2):
1/4 pound of Okra, 1 cup of basmati rice, 1 tin of tomatos or 6 medium fresh tomatos, 2 medium carrots, 1 lime, 8 prawns, 1 onion, 2 cloves garlic, 1 pound of Spinach, 1/2 pound of spuds. (Spices, Smoked Tofu, small fillet of smoked mackerel , which I'll bring myself).




Equipment Needed to Make Dinner:
3 large pans with lids.

Monday 18th
Dinner Will Be: Bean chilli!

Food Needed to Make Dinner (for 2): An onion,2 carrots a red pepper, i carton tomato pasata/tinned tomatoes, i tin red kidney beans tin mixed beans, Chilli powder, mixed herbs. oxo cubes, and rice

Equipment Needed to Make Dinner: choppin board, 2 sauce pans nowt special really


Tuesday 19th
Dinner Will Be: make-sure-the-hard-workin-crew-gets-deliciously-fed-kind-a-meal (tba ;-))) Vegtable ratatoulle

*BECAUSE NO-ONE HAS FILLED THIS IN WE WILL JUST FILL IN A RECIPIE HERE SO WE CAN GET THE SHOPPING LIST FINISHED AND WORK OUT WHAT WE ARE BUYING, WHO EVER ORIGINALLY PLANNED TO COOK HERE CAN STILL COOK BUT USING THE INGREDIENTS HERE.
Food Needed to Make Dinner (for 2):
2 onions, i red pepper, i green, 1lb courgettes (any vegtable substitutions can be made) I large tin tomatoes

Wednesday 20th

Equipment Needed to Make Dinner: 2 sauce pans

400g tin chickpeas 3 tomatoes 1/2 large cucumber
˝ medium red onion Ground Cumin (I can bring this)
Extra Virgin Olive Oil Red Wine Vinegar
Balsamic Vinegar 1 clove garlic minced
Small handful of coriander 4~8 Pitta Bread



Thursday 21st
Dinner Will Be: Pasta with spicy chorizo and vegetable sauce, vegetarian option also available, spice-free version also available
Moved from saturday by Sam to match cooking scheule, feel free to swap friday/saturday if this is your dish.

Food Needed to Make Dinner (for 2): 1 large onion, 2 capsicum, Half a (400g?) jar pre-soaked haricot beans (these used to be freely available in Spain), 250g tomate frito (passata/sieved tomatoes), 1 courgette, 2 tbsp olive oil, 75g mushrooms (not magic ones!), salt, pepper, pimentón, mixed herbs, 75g sliced chorizo, handful of grated cheese, 150g pasta shells. Any unavailable vegetables can be substituted with any veg that is in season, haricot beans could be replaced with chick peas if unavailable, precise pasta shape doesn't really matter either! I'll bring pimentón and mixed herbs and there'll be enough for others to use as well.

Equipment Needed to Make Dinner: chopping boards, knives, 3 big saucepans, 1 small saucepan, colander, industrial lathe, 2 wooden spoons, fish slice, ladles for serving, cheese grater


Friday 22nd
Dinner Will Be: Vegetarian Thai Red Curry (Sam and Tessa cooking)

Food Needed to Make Dinner (for 2): 1 cup Thai/Basmati rice, 1/2 a small butternut squash, 200g, a little less that 1 can of Ccconut Milk, 1 can baby sweetcorn (mini corn on the cob), 1/2 can bamboo shoots, 1 large potato, 1 green pepper, 1/2 cauliflower. We weill bring the red curry paste ourselves as it is not available everywhere.

Equipment Needed to Make Dinner: 2 very large sauce pans (one for rice, one for curry) or several smaller ones. chopping board, 2 sharp knives, 2 large serving spoons


Saturday 23rd
Dinner Will Be: "Polenta Pizza", backed with cheese, tomato. And veggies.

Food Needed to Make Dinner (for 2): Polenta - ready made. I will bring that myself, I don't know if you can get it in Spain - no problemo at all. Hard cheese, 3 different kinds (gouda, emmental, and some good spanish cheese!) - 200gr. Tomato in a can - 'Pelati', already chopped - 200gr. 1/2 large onion. salt and pepper (black), 1 can of tuna (about 100 gr). Veggies: 1 cucumber. 2 tomatos. 1 red pepper. 1 zucinni. red wine would be great if the budget allows it.

Equipment Needed to Make Dinner: knives. cutting board. frying pans - with a lid (some kind).


Sunday 24th
Lunch Will Be: American pancakes (I know it's not very British, but I'm not very British, and you're gonna love them)

Food Needed to Make Lunch (for 2):1 and 1/3 cups flour, 2 Tablespoons sugar, 2 teaspoons baking powder, 3/4 teaspoon salt 1 Tablespon poppy seeds, 1 cup milk, 1 egg, 2 Tablespoons rape seed oil zest (grated rind) of 1 lemon, maple syrup (which we can bring) more rape seed oil for frying the pancakes, butter


Equipment Needed to Make Lunch: large bowl, electric mixer if possible (whisk and a big strong boy if not), measuring cups and spoons (I can bring these if the measurements are just too American) large frying pan or griddle

Dinner Will Be: Lentil Bolognaise with rice

Food Needed to Make Dinner (for 2): 3 cups rice, half cup brown lentils, 1 onion, half green pepper, 1 stick celery, 1 carrot, 2 cloves garlic, 2 cups creamed tomatoes/tomato juice, herbs: oregano and basil, 1 bay leaf, black pepper, cheese to sprinkle on top

Equipment Needed to Make Dinner: Chopping board, knife, big pans!


Monday 25th

Dinner Will Be:omelets and bread

Food Needed to Make Dinner (for 2):3 eggs, 1/2 cup grated edam or sliced brie, 1 onion, 1 bell pepper, 1 cup chopped mushrooms, salt, pepper, 1/2 can sun dried tomatoes, 1/2 avocado, herbs (I'll bring the herbs), frozen Quorn chicken pieces (if possible) butter, bread

Equipment Needed to Make Dinner:knives, cutting board, small mixing bowl, whisk, large frying pan, wooden spoon, cheese grater, a damn good non-stick pan (I'll bring if necessary, but I probably won't share it's use; I'm a little possessive of my good cooking stuff)
