Evap Pond - don't need
I've talked to Paul, Stefan and Santi. Everyone seems to agree that we are not in BRC Ecomania country and that we are shitting in to the ground anyway, so we can actually let any water from showering and dish washing go directly into the ground of course unless someone disagrees.... (

This depends on the chemicals everyone is using, eg shampoos, conditioners and soaps. shit and the straw that is going in the toilets are pretty natural. The paper should not go in the toilet in my opinion. I think we should take care of the waste water. Unless we want to have only natural soap and shower products. Dishwashing water is less noxious if we use an ecofriendlier soap. We could use the straw to make a kind of filter system, this would clean the water that could then be put on the land. It would be pretty easy to do. We then just have to get rid of the straw. The best thing is for every one to really really use as little water as possible. (Michelle)
The other thing to consider is that mosquitos lay their eggs on still water so best to keep still water surfaces to a minimum! You can get granules to put in the water to stop them - not sure on the eco-ethics of those though... (
