How to secure a ride to and from Black Rock City

1. Everyone needing a ride should register their ride share request on the official BM ride share page. You can also search for ride offers that match your dates but be flexible for the best results.

2. You may also want to post your details on various places frequented by Burners such as ePlaya, Tribe and Facebook groups. Act early to avoid the frenzy in mid-August.

3. Get yourself and your supplies to one of the traditional ride share locations in the Reno-Sparks area to hook up or offer a ride to the playa. Due to their proximity to Hwy 447, inventories, and services, many Burners shop at Whole Foods Market, these three Save Marts and Twin City Surplus before and during Burning Man. Over the past few years the car parks of these sites have subsequently become THE place to get a last minute ride. After the event the car parks of Whole Foods and Save Mart become home to The Reno Drive-Thru Recycling Project too.

NB. Save Mart supermarkets (formerly Albertsons) and Whole Foods Market (formerly Wild Oats).

Whole Foods is right next to US-395 in the southern stretch of Reno, two of the Save Marts straddle the west and east parts of the region along I-80, and the other participating Save Mart is nearest to the Reno-Tahoe International Airport. Twin City Surplus is at the far eastern end of E. 4th St.
