Venue announced for September 2007
For August and September 2007 we're in a fantastic venue - the usual pub was closed for refurbishment, but we managed to get into the venue we had for Midsummer Night's Mayhem, thanks to Santi. BRING YOUR OWN BOOZE (and food) - the venue is unlicensed.
We may be back at the Edgar Wallace in October, or we may stay at 89½ Worship Street. The venue will be confirmed in early October.
89½ Worship Street
London
EC2
Nearest tube: Liverpool Street
We're getting the ball rolling for this year's London Decompression! If you're interested in taking charge of some aspect of Decompression, please come to the meeting which we'll be holding during Burning Pub. We need people to run the bar, be in charge of decor, tickets, music scheduling, performances, cabaret, fire shows, art placement, and a thousand other tasks.
We'll have another meeting soon for those that would like to get involved, but don't want want to take charge of something - if, say, you just want to work a bar shift on the night, or help decorate the venue beforehand.
If you want to be part of this stage of the organising, please let Santi (email santi (at) euroburners (dot) org) know beforehand, and please try to be at the venue by 8 so we can go get down to some serious organising in the Granny Flat.

Burning Pub is the monthly meet for Burners in the UK (or whoever turns up - from Germany or Seattle or wherever...) to keep up social contact, plan the bigger events that happen through the year or just make connections with other burners and escape from the default world for an evening with people who understand what all this shit is about...

It's your event
Burning Pub is there for the community to use, and in the new venue we will be able to do a bit more than drink beer and talk. If you want to put on a performance or screen something or use Burning Pub for any small scale burner thing please email me (address below).
In July, Lori Van Meter gave a short presentation on the temples at Burning Man to the biggest ever Burning Pub crowd, full of people still excited about Nowhere as well as those gearing up for the Burn in Nevada. Maid Marian, Burning Man's Mistress of Communication, and Bex Workman, Burning Man Regional Network Co-ordinator, also came along to join in with us.
In April, Russ (UK co-regional contact) and Burners Without Borders launched the new Burning Pub venue by showing a sneak preview of an amazing, moving film that is being made about BWB's work in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina. We had a great turnout - I reckon nearly 40 people.
